Character Diversity and What it Means to Me

I’m working on a new series that, while fun to write and action-packed, deals with some tough issues on what it means to be a person or be human.

It all sprang from a request from one of my daughters to make my books more inclusive of diverse characters, and to make the stories, not about that diversity, but to just write stories with a variety of character genders, orientations, and orientations more representative of society as a whole. Readers Said They Wanted More! I Listened…

Somebody said to me they wanted more.

“More what?” I asked.

“More about what you’re working on.”

“Oh, I guess I can do that.”

That is about how that conversation went and I agree, I could do more to communicate with all the awesome readers out there. Because of that, I’ve kicked off a Facebook Fan Page that will allow me to do some regular Facebook Live videos. Read more…

A Winter Holiday in Bali and Book Deals and Freebies

Well, I’m fresh back from my tropical vacation in Bali. It wasn’t totally a vacation since I was on the trip with a bunch of the top fantasy and sci-fi indie authors I know to talk about our books, fans, and writing in general. My wife got some beach time, though while I was in chatting books with my author pals. Now that I’ve recovered from the 30-hour trip back home, I’m ready to make 2019 a kick-ass year for new books and other projects from me. I’m going to be releasing the fifth and final (for now) book of the Delivery Mage series. “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” will be out soon so keep your eyes open.I’m also working on a new project set in a near-future, dystopian America dealing with cybernetics, implants, and what it means to be human. My Furry Writing Companion and Positive Writing Habits

Peggy, our 2 1/2-year-old miniature Schnauzer has been happy to curl up between my extended legs when I sit in my recliner. She’s done this while I write since we first got her as a puppy.
