Why I actually want you to borrow my books

This might sound strange coming from an author…

But I want you to borrow my books from the library.

Not just buy them.

Borrow them.

Because here’s the truth:

Libraries matter more than most people realize—especially to authors.

There’s this common idea that if you don’t buy a book, you’re not really supporting the writer.

And I get why people think that.

But when it comes to libraries, that’s not how it works.

Libraries purchase books (including ebooks and audiobooks) and make them available to readers like you. Every time you borrow a book, it tells the system that this story is worth reading.

That matters.

It helps libraries decide what to keep, what to expand, and what readers are actually enjoying.

And yes—authors do get paid through these systems.

So when you borrow a book, you’re still contributing to the success of that author.

You’re still part of the reason more stories get written.

But beyond the financial side, there’s something else that matters even more:

Discovery.

Libraries are one of the easiest ways for readers to discover new authors without risk.

No pressure. No “what if I don’t like it?”

You can try something new, explore different genres, and find stories you didn’t even know you were looking for.

That’s how a lot of readers find my books.

Not through ads. Not through recommendations.

Through their library.

They scroll, they click, they borrow… and suddenly they’re pulled into a world of paramedics, vampires, magic, and chaos.

And sometimes they come back for more.

Sometimes they tell a friend.

Sometimes they become long-term readers.

And it all started with a free borrow.

So if you’ve been hesitating to try something new—or try one of my books—this is your sign.

Go through your library app and pick something that catches your attention.

No pressure to finish it. No pressure to love it.

Just start.

Reading should feel easy.

It should feel accessible.

And honestly, it should feel a little exciting.

You never know which book is going to pull you in… until you give it a chance.
