Writing on Pain Meds – Recovering From Surgery

Well, I’m back so that means I survived my gastric bypass surgery last week. Now, almost a week later, I’m only taking over-the-counter pain meds and using a heating pad for pain. I want to give a sincere thank you to all of you who responded to last week’s email with prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery. It worked so far and it meant so much to me.

I tried doing some work when I first got home but the pain meds they had me on at first just snowed me and I kept falling asleep at the keyboard. My wife finally threatened to hide the computer so I settled in to just watching TV and getting rested. Those of you out there who are nurses or know nurses, you know we aren’t the best patients sometimes. I’m being good now, though and it’s paying off. I’m going to start on the short story project for the upcoming anthology tomorrow.

Then I’m back in the saddle to write the final book in the Broken Throne series. Once the fifth book is written, we’ll edit all three and I should have a preorder date for you soon after (around mid-May). I can’t wait to share this new series with you.

I’ve also been journaling ideas for the 7th book in the Extreme Medical Services series. It’s always fun revisiting the adventures of Dean Flynn and his friends!
